Pink Blossom Maternity Photos

By now you all know what suckers we are when it comes to finding pretty trees, flowers or anything Spring related. But we have to admit, when we saw this particular tree in bloom, covered in pink blossom petals we couldn’t contain our excitement – we decided to shoot some more maternity photos here and we are SO glad we did!

Check out the very first photo we took! Everley is right into copying me at the moment, but I haven’t seen a picture where we actually look similar side-by-side before. I’m totally framing this one! Love it…

PINK BLOSSOM MATERNITY PHOTOS

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, I absolutely LOVE being pregnant in the Spring! I feel so much less depressed than when I was pregnant with Everley (in the middle of Winter at full-term), being able to enjoy being outdoors, wearing nice pregnancy-appropriate clothing, watching everything come back to life after the Winter. I vowed to be better documenting this pregnancy and I think I’ve done a cracker job at it (if I do say so myself). I am loving capturing all these beautiful memories in stunning locations while pregnant. I never thought we’d be so blessed to not only have a baby due when Rohan has three months off work over the Summer but to be able to capture our maternity photos while Spring blooms around us. It’s really quite special!

Of all the colored blossoming trees, a tree displaying a pink blossom will always jump it’s way up to my favorites list. Everley is so like me in so many ways, including a love for nature and pink blossoms. Well, any kind of flower really. It’s really special to watch her adapt into her own person, but still be led (unknowingly) by us. It makes me wonder what Little LaLa (what we call baby girl due in June) will be like. Everley originally was a spitting image of her daddy, but then about four or five months in, she changed so dramatically and now looks much more like her mama, than daddy. It’s a true wonder imagining what little babe will be like. Her hair, eyes, chubbiness, smile, size, sleep habits and little personality. I am so ready to meet her and snuggle her for hours. I bet Everley is too!

We managed to get a day of cloud cover and a comfortable temp to shoot in the afternoon, on the same day this tree was in it’s prime! Talk about lucky! The larger I get (and the bigger the belly gets) the harder it is to walk, stand in heels, or flats for that matter, but it often limits my patience and Evie’s too, when I cannot lift her for long, or bend down to sit with her on the floor. All these little things make shooting maternity photos quite difficult this far along in the pregnancy (today we are 36 weeks)! BUT, in saying that, we managed to have a well-slept toddler who was ready and happy to take photos, a well-rested mama and a happy daddy-photographer – so we came out winning with this photoshoot!

Brooke-Lyn is wearing a flowy seafoam green off-the-shoulder maxi dress from Forever 21, with her braided white strap heels from Charlotte Russe, finishing her look off with a pair of white and gold pearl hoops from SheIn.

Everley wears a white tiered crochet neck dress from Old Navy (last season, now sold out), and her little white huarache flats from Target and a cute white bow in her hair (now sold out, similar here).
